My first road trip to the Deep South was a complete blessing! I was treated to some real southern hospitality along with some tasty BBQ. When I arrived at the Temple Theater, I was captivated by its beauty. This theater used to be one of the most prolific entertainment centers in Meridian. It housed all city folk who went to watch the first "talkies" of the time. To see The Rose Garden play on the big screen was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. To win Best Short Narrative was truly something we were not expecting, but elated to hear! Mississippi, thank you for being so good to us city folk from NJ.
